Major transformations underway at Linxens France’s flagship facility
Linxens, a leader in design and manufacturing of micro connectors and RFID antennas for smart cards has
revamped its factory in Mantes-la-Jolie (Yvelines). The factory, located in the Île-de-France region of north- central France, which served as Linxens’ flagship facility, has undergone fundamental shift through the use of cutting-edge technology and implementation of proven work methodology.
In 2022, 50 new hires were made in different domains in the facility. 31 posts have been opened for hiring in 2023. "Our site in Yvelines is the focus of numerous investments. Its R&D centre enables us to develop new products and services. To support this growth, we continue to recruit a variety of profiles, including
experienced technicians, operators, and R&D engineers", said Cuong H. Duong, CEO of Linxens.
The company has also registered an excellent score in gender equality.
Maintenance of the facility has been declared a top priority. Dedicated action plans are being devised to
identify problems and mitigate them, which has further fostered teamwork. It has also helped the
maintenance team gain autonomy in analysing problems and providing solutions. With new solutions, particularly the development of biometrics payment cards, the facility has been designated as Linxens’ biometric expertise hub. A dedicated organization with a team of 20 full-time experts in the field has been established since late November’22. It has accelerated production schedule, stabilized the process and achieved 90% accuracy in timely delivery. In March 2023, 255,000 pieces were delivered, covering 8 distinct references.
In a bid to further growth and facilitate production, working hours have also been changed, including
working during the holiday season, following a unanimous decision with the employees. Discussions are also underway to consider opening on weekends to increase production in the long run. An investment of 150k is being made to provide training to employees in different levels of management. Lean management training is being rolled out in the effort. A three-tier process for reporting and managing operations has been deployed at all levels. An external consultant has also been roped in to coach the leaders and ensure seamless flow of the process.
To promote business ownership, a concerted effort is being made to infuse collective mindset. At the
executive committee level, all departments are now being considered equal, with no department carrying
more weight. Flow of information is being encouraged to reach the nearest hierarchical level for same-day
resolution. Furthermore, Visual Project Management approach is being developed as a new practice, which combines visual thinking tools and data visualization methodologies with traditional communication,
reporting, and project facilitation practices.
